This week, Hastings Community Centre Association, and 5 other commmunity centre associations, need your support as they continue their legal battle in the courtroom with the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation between December 9-13, 2013 (Monday-Friday this week).
It is very important to have community presence at these hearings. If you have a few hours to spare this week, come check out the hearings downtown at the Vancouver Court House, main entry is at the corner of Hornby and Nelson Streets. For daily hearing locations inside the building, the hearing lists with courtrooms are posted each day on the Provincial court website (look for HASTINGS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION & OTHERS V. VANCOUVER BOARD OF PARKS AND RECREATION).
Legal representation is being provided by Dean Davison, JD, MBA, CFE. We are both seeking an injunction on the Park Board’s termination of community centre Joint Operating Agreements (JOA), and background information on the violation of the JOAs will be presented. Our objective will be to gain both an injunction and to seek resolution to the JOA violations.
